Neuroendocrine tumor of the ovary: a case report

Abstract: The carcinoid tumors are neoplasias usully found in the gastrointestinal tract ad
bronchopulmonary segment, however, they can be less frequently found in other sites,
Primary ovarian carcinoid tumors represent less than 5% of all carcinoid tumors and less than
0,1% of all ovary neoplasia, whereas the carcinoid syndrome occur in a third of these cases.
This case report aims to present a patient with ovarian tumor and carcinoid syndrome,
discussing the aspects regarding clinic, diagnosis and treatment.
