Independently of the origin, peritonial carcinomatosis is the last event in many types of cancer
that leads invariably to the patient death. Overall prognosis is dismal leading both great
discomfort and personal distress. This disease presentation is very difficult to solve because the
patients generally present in poor clinical stage. Among many types of cancer which comprise
peritoneal cavity, one the most found has been colorectal cancer. Besides peritoneal disease the
patient with colorectal cancer may present invasion of neighboring organs. In this situation, multivisceral
resection should be performed aiming as improvement of the survival time as ameliorate
of the quality of life. This article shows the state-of-the-art of multivisceral resection for treating
peritoneal carcinomatosis in colorectal cancer.
